Jamaat Ameer greets the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 22 May 2020 extending greetings to the fellow countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The month of Ramadan, in which the holy Quran has been revealed, is bidding farewell to us. Eid-ul-Fitr is approaching before usfollowing a month-long training of exercising Almighty Allah’s directives in our personal, social and national lives and also to get motivated with the spirit of Taqwa (fear of Allah).

Along with the contagion of coronavirus, the recent attack of the super cyclone Amphan has caused severe damage in the coastal areas of Bangladesh. Under the circumstances, ahead of the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I am greeting my fellow countrymen with a broken heart.

I am also urging my fellow countrymen to help and assist the victims of Covid-19 and cyclone Amphanby making sacrifices. This would be the best way to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr this time. During the Eid prayer and other rituals, we should follow and comply the health instructions issued by the Department of Health.

I am praying to Almighty Allah with due sincerity and honesty to seek refuge from the pandemic situation. I am praying for the betterment of the cyclone victims so that they can recover their damages quickly.

I, personally and on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, wishing peace, happiness, good health and safety of the people. Besides, I am extending my sincere greetings to all the countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
