Matiur Rahman Akanda protests the false news of Amadershomoy online against Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central executive committee member Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 1 May 2020 protesting the false news titled “জামায়াতের সাবেক এমপির গোডাউনে যুবলীগ নেতার ১২শ বস্তা চাল” (1200 sacks of rice recovered from the go-down of former Jamaat MP) published in the online version of Daily Amader Shomoy.

“I am vehemently protesting and condemning the content of a news published in the online version of Daily Amader Shomoy which discloses the incident of recovering rice from the go down of an Ex-Jamaat MP.

The news stated some fictitious information about Haidori Garments and one Javed’s go-down and implicated the name of Jamaat’s former MP and central Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher with the incident. Dr. Taher does not own any such storage. The concerned reporter has accused Dr. Taher in order to tarnish his image. Publishing such news without any specific evidence and information is opposite to the principle and ethics of the mass media.

I am urging the authorities of Daily Amader Shomoy to be refrained from publishing such false and fictitious report in future.
