Professor Mujib criticizes former Chief Whip for his confusing comment against Jamaat-e-Islami

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of Parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 31 January, 2020 protesting and condemning the comment of former parliament’s chief whip A.S.M. Firoz which he made in the parliament about the government’s obstruction in different waz and other religious preaching programs and Jamaat’s involvement in this regard.

“Former chief whip A.S.M. Firoz has made a comment against Jamaat-e-Islami which is unexpected and confusing. He has delivered the address to mislead the nation. His claim is completely baseless. Whatever he said about the lessons and morals of Jamaat-e-Islami that is far away from reality.

Mr. A.S.M. Firoz urged the people not get motivated by the Jamaat’s teachings. But his intention is not clear. Actually, there is nothing called Jamaat’s teaching. Jamaat-e-Islami is a systematic democratic Islamic party. Jamaat has been trying to motivate people as noble and ideal citizen based on the spirit of the morality. Jamaat has been trying to enlighten the people with modern contents so that they can play pivotal role in the development of the nation. The countrymen consider Jamaat’s effort as the only hope for the future. So, whoever is attempting to demean Jamaat’s policies and strategies, will not be succeeded. People will not be misguided by such ill-campaigns.

We hope that the political figures will be refrained from making such comments and speeches.”
