On Wednesday evening, 12 November, a grand ceremony was organized at the German Embassy to celebrate The Day of German Unity. The event was hosted at the invitation of Germany’s newly appointed Ambassador, Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, and Mrs. Ivana Lotz. Ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, political figures, retired military officers, senior government officials, and distinguished members of civil society attended the occasion.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, along with Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, attended the event. They were accompanied by Jamaat Ameer’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.

On the occasion of The Day of German Unity, Professor Mia Golam Porwar handed over a message of greetings from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, addressed to His Excellency the President of Germany, H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, through the Ambassador Dr. Rüdiger Lotz.

During the event, the speakers expressed their good wishes for the peace, prosperity, and progress of the German government and people, and hoped that the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Germany would be further strengthened in the upcoming days.
