On 11 November (Tuesday) evening, a grand event was organized at the Radisson Hotel in Dhaka to celebrate the 70th birthday of Bhutan’s Fourth King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The event, held at the invitation of Bhutan’s Honorable Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Dasho Karma Hamoo Darji, was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, political figures, retired military officers, senior government officials, and distinguished civil society members.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar, along with Jamaat Ameer’s advisor on foreign affairs Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan participated in the event.
On this occasion, Professor Mia Golam Porwar conveyed a congratulatory message from the respected Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, to Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck on the occasion of Bhutan’s Fourth King’s birthday, through Mr. Dasho Karma Hamoo Darji.
During the event, well-wishes were expressed for the happiness, peace, prosperity, and development of the Bhutanese government and people, along with hope that the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Bhutan would be further strengthened.
