On Saturday, July 19, at 2:00 PM, a “National Rally” will, Insha’Allah, be organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka. The rally will be held to press the demand of ensuring a level playing field for making the upcoming national parliamentary elections free, fair, neutral, and peaceful. It also demands justice for all mass killings, essential structural reforms, the implementation of the July Charter and Declaration, rehabilitation of the families of the martyrs and injured of the July Uprising, holding elections under the proportional representation (PR) system, and making arrangements for expatriates to cast their votes.

On this occasion, today, (Wednesday) June 25, at 11:00 AM, a meeting of the National Rally Implementation Committee was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami under the chairmanship of the organization’s Secretary General and former MP, Professor Mia Golam Porwar. The meeting reviewed the responsibilities of various sub-committees and called upon all leaders, activists, and citizens to ensure a peaceful and successful rally.

Among others, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim; Central Executive Committee Member Mobarak Hossain; Central Executive Committee Members and Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Dhaka North City Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, Dhaka City South and North Secretaries Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud and Dr. Rezaul Karim respectively; Dhaka City North Assistant Secretaries Dr. Fakhruddin Manik and Mr. Md. Yasin Arafat; Dhaka City South Assistant Secretary Kamal Hossain; General Secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Kollan Federation Advocate Atikur Rahman; and Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Nurul Islam Saddam, were present in the meeting.
