Jamaat-e-Islami Members’ Day-Long training camp held in Kurigram district

Voters must be allowed to express their opinions freely

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman stated that running a state based on consultation is a core teaching of Islam. However, in the past 17 years, the country has not been governed through consultation. In fact, even the opportunity to express opinions has been denied. During the past fascist regime, our voting rights were taken away. In the upcoming election, it is essential to ensure that voters can freely express their choices. Through a ballot-based revolution, we have to establish good governance. Referring to Al-Aqsa, he said that the victory of Al-Aqsa will mark the global triumph of Islam, Insha’Allah.

Professor Mujibur Rahman made these remarks as the chief guest at a day-long training camp held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the hall room of the Model Mosque of Kurigram Sadar Upazila. The event was presided over by Kurigram district Ameer Maulana Abdul Matin Farooqi and hosted by district secretary Maulana Nizam Uddin.

Special guests at the training camp included Assistant Secretary General and coordinator of Rangpur-Dinajpur region Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Working Committee member Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, and Professor Azizur Rahman.

Chief guest Professor Mujibur Rahman further stated that success in the Hereafter is our ultimate success. All our actions are connected to the Hereafter. We want to build a welfare state based on the ideals of the Prophet (peace be upon him); we aim to establish the rule of the Qur'an and righteous leadership. There is no alternative to establishing Qur'anic governance at the state level to eliminate all forbidden acts in society such as usury, bribery, obscenity, shamelessness, and extortion. When the rule of the Qur’an is established, practicing Islam will become easier for us.

Special guest Maulana Abdul Halim said that we must be united while facing various problems and challenges along the path of the Islamic movement. Our beloved independent and sovereign Bangladesh holds immense potential for the Islamic movement. To harness this potential, all Islamic parties and forces must work together in unison. We must not be misled by propaganda.
