Jamaat activists should come forward to fulfill the rights of the deprived people

- Maulana ATM Masum

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said Bangladesh is crossing a critical period. People are suffering severely due to excessive price hikes of oil, gas, electricity, and other necessary items. Political vengeance, people tension and pressure, and brutalities have polluted the entire social system. Parents in many families are passing sleepless nights. Their sons have been abducted. People are being murdered in the name of crossfire. Just only for holding the dissident views, thousands of opposition leaders and activists have been facing false and fabricated cases. Jamaat activists should come forward to ensure the freedom of these oppressed people. Furthermore, a broad base movement is to be launched for restoring the caretaker government system and also for holding a free and credible election in a bid to establish a pro-people government.

Maulana Masum said this while addressing the members’ conference organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Lalmonirhat district. Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Lalmonirhat district Ameer Lecturer Ataur Rahman presided over the meeting which was hosted by district secretary Advocate Md. Abu Taher. Jamaat’s central working committee member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s assistant coordinator Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, central Majlish-e-Shura member, and Thakurgaon district Ameer Maulana Abdul Hakim spoke on the occasions as the special guests.

Maulana Masum said, the Prophet (pbuH) and His ideology is the source of our inspiration. He left this world after establishing a Quran-based welfare state. The Prophet (pbuH) said, ‘“I have left you with two matters which will never lead you astray, as long as you hold to them: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of his Prophet.” In the later period, both of these two things were in the controlling position in all executive activities. But it is a matter of great regret that, Al Quran- the principle of operating state is still with the Ummah but it is not applied anymore. Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country but there is no reflection of the Quran in the education and culture of this country. Conspiracy is going on to remove all ethical elements from everywhere. Some of us understand the holy Quran but we do not make effort to implement Quranic law. Under such a critical condition, Jamaat-e-Islami has appeared as a tested organization. Now, we should convey the message and spirit of Islam to all Muslims once again so that they can recognize the real identity of the Ummah.

Maulana Masum urged all to come forward in the movement for restoring the caretaker government system.
