On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, tins have been distributed among 111 families in Dimla Upazila and another 1981 pieces of tin have been distributed in Joldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari district on 16 November morning. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim at that time also handed over 6 houses to the victims in Joldhaka Upazila. These activities have been carried out as a part of the post-flood rehabilitation program. It should be added that Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited the area last 18th July and assured to extend assistance to the flood victims.
Maulana Abdul Halim said Jamaat-e-Islami was beside the helpless people in the past. The party is continuing such humanitarian activities now and will continue to act similarly in the future. We are not leaders rather helping hand to the people. Abdul Halim said, earlier, we had conveyed greetings on behalf of Jamaat Ameer and again we have come to you. We are handing these houses over to you as a part of our promises.
He alleged that nationwide looting is going on in the name of politics. People are experiencing unbearable suffering due to the price hike of the essentials. The government has also kept the religious scholar including world-renowned religious personality Allama Delawar Hossain Sayedee behind the bar. This looter government can never be a friend to the people.
Abdul Halim stated that From our obligation, we took a stand beside the helpless people in their crucial times. This is humanitarian, social, and welfare work. As an ideological party, it participates in all noble activities as per its capacity. From such responsibility, we are handing these houses over to you. This is not our pity towards you rather a right of the helpless people. We are just trying to convey your due rights to you. Please pray for us so that like the current practices, may Allah blesses us to work for the betterment of the people by utilizing state apparatus. We are grateful to Allah as He allowed us to help you.
