Jamaat leaders continue to distribute gift items among Jamalpur flood victims

It is the obligation of the state and the government to work for the welfare of the countrymen and also to secure justice. Whereas the basic task of a political party is to become active for the public benefit. But the present government and the ruling party failed to play this role. On the contrary, a pro-people organization, Jamaat-e-Islami has been trying to perform those duties and become able to draw the attention of the people.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member and central publicity affairs secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda said this while distributing food packets and gift items among the flood victims of Belgacha union of Islampur Upazila of the Jamalpur district today.

He further stated that Jamaat-e-Islami has been continuing to distribute gift items in Dewanganj and Islampur Upazila of Jamalpur district. Although the situation has improved a bit, the number of casualties are being apparent and Jamaat-e-Islami is working to reduce the public crisis.

Matiur Rahman Akanda said, people’s properties, houses, and shops have become submerged but the ministers and administrators are not coming to the flood victims. Although the government has the responsibility to look after the people but the incumbent government failed to do so. We want to assure you, that if Jamaat-e-Islami gets the opportunity to run the state, they will work to establish prayer, a Zakat-based equitable financial system, establishing justice, and resisting crimes.

Addressing the gathering, Jamaat’s central organizing secretary and Mymensingh region’s relief activities coordinator Dr. Samiul Haq Faruqee said, flood is a natural disaster. We have to overcome it by having full trust in Almighty Allah and also based on mutual cooperation, courage, and patience. He is the only helper. He urged the fellow countrymen to assist Jamaat in building a welfare state where justice and equitable financial distributions will be ensured.

Among others, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Jamalpur district Ameer Advocate Nazmul Haq Sayedee, acting secretary Advocate Abdul Awal, Dewanganj Upazila Ameer Professor Maulana Mahbubur Rahman Talukdar,, Islampur Upazila Ameer Khondokar Maulana Liakat Ali, Upazila secretary Amzad Hossain, Islami Chhatrashibir’s district president Samaun Sarkar, and other local leaders were present on the occasion.
