Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The people of Bangladesh desire unity among the Islamic parties. I pray that Allah grants us the opportunity to fulfill that desire of establishing unity among the Islamic parties of Bangladesh."
He made this statement during an exchange of views with the leaders of the Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party on Wednesday, December 18, at 10:00 AM. The leaders of the Nezam-e-Islam Party present during the exchange of views with Jamaat-e-Islami were party’s Ameer Allama Sarwar Kamal Aziz, Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Abdul Majed Ataari, General Secretary Maulana Musa Bin Izhar, Joint General Secretary Maulana Mustafizur Rahman Mahmudi, Maulana Dr. Elias Khan, Organizational Secretary Hafiz Maulana Abu Taher Khan, Office Secretary Mufti Deen-ul-Alam Haruni, Finance Secretary Hazi Anwarul Kabir, Assistant Organizational Secretary Maulana Enamul Haq Qutubi, Industry and Commerce secretary Alhaz Shakiral Haque Khan, Member Secretary of Bangladesh Islami Jubo Shomaj Mufti Atikur Rahman Siddiquee, General Secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shomaj BM Amir Jihadi.
Whereas, the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami present included Secretary-General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan.
The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami further stated, "The leaders of Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party have been struggling for the establishment of Islamic principles in this country since the inception of this organization. They are still steadfast and unwavering in their commitment to Islamic principles and continuing to move forward. Jamaat-e-Islami and Nezam-e-Islam Party have always been working together to establish an Islamic society. Both parties, from their respective positions, are striving to establish unity among the Islamic parties in Bangladesh. May Allah grant us the success to fulfill the desire for unity and solidarity among the Muslim Ummah and unity among the Islamic parties of Bangladesh."
He also said, "The students and people of this country who gave their lives and blood with the hope of building a country free from discrimination; may Allah grant us the opportunity to fulfill their aspirations as well."
The exchange of views between the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and Nezam-e-Islam Party took place in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
