Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 6th November 2024 urging to observe ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’ on upcoming 7 November.
National Revolution and Solidarity Day is going to be observed on 7 November. In the history of Bangladesh, the day is immensely significant. The general masses from all classes and sections came to the street on that day of 1975 to protect and preserve the independence and sovereignty of the country and simultaneously to resist all conspiracies and plots.
On November 3, 1975, Major General Khaled Mosharraf conspired to bring the Awami League back to power by launching a counter military coup. Our patriotic soldiers and the people unitedly took to the streets on November 7 by chanting the slogan Naray-e- Takbir, Allahu Akbar and protected the independence and sovereignty of the country by resisting the conspiracy of Khaled Mosharraf.
Our patriotic military forces have repeatedly defended the country from foreign hegemonic conspiracies. On last 5th August, the students of the country from the grip of the Awami fascist forces in exchange for their lives and bloods and our military came forward and stood by the students. We are going to observe November 7 at a time when the nation is going through various crises. Multifaceted conspiracies have begun to hand over the nation to fascism again. The nation is again hearing the footsteps of fascism. If the fascists return, the nation will be in a great crisis. In order to protect the nation, the patriotic students and those who believe in multi-party democracy, irrespective of political identities, the incumbent government and the military, must work together.
Therefore, I call on all branches of Jamaat and patriotic students to observe the ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 7 with due dignity by taking a solemn oath to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country by firmly confronting all kinds of conspiracies.
