On the occasion of the Thirteenth National Parliamentary Election, today, Thursday (25 December) at 11:00 am, the nomination paper in favour of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated candidate for the Dhaka-15 constituency, and the Ameer of the organization Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was collected. A delegation led by Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim collected this nomination paper from the office of the Returning Officer located in Agargaon, Dhaka.
Those present at the time included Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of its central publicity and media department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, Central Working Committee Member, and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City North and coordinator for Dhaka-15 constituency Abdur Rahman Musa, Central Majlish-e-Shura Member and Dhaka City North Working Committee Member Ziaul Hasan, City North Working Committee Member and Mirpur (East) Thana Ameer Shah Alam Tuhin, Kafrul (South) Thana Ameer Professor Anwarul Karim, and Kafrul (North) Thana Ameer Mr. Rezaul Karim.
After collecting the nomination paper, while talking to journalists, Maulana Abdul Halim said, “For the Thirteenth National Parliamentary Election to be held in February 2026, we have collected the nomination paper in favour of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer and the dreamer of a humane Bangladesh Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Alhamdulillah. We want the upcoming election to be a competitive and festive one.”
He further said, “Bearing the inspiration of the determined slogan of the youth; "There are many storms in the chest, I have bared my chest to be shot’—Shaheed Abu Sayeed, Shaheed Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha, Shaheed Abrar Fahad and most recent Shaheed and brave fighter of July revolution Sharif Osman bin Hadi, who sacrificed their lives, we are committed to fulfilling the aspirations of all the July fighters.”
He said, “With the aim of building a corruption-free, just and humane Bangladesh, we are calling upon the people of the country to remain united under the leadership of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. We seek the prayers and cooperation of the people of the country for a credible, fair, free election in the upcoming February in which the public opinions will be reflected and all parties can take part confidently.
