Dhaka City South organizes colorful rally on the occasion of the Victory Day

The country will not be allowed to be made a slave of anyone

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Those who sold the independence of Bangladesh, have fled the country. They have gone to the country which they belong. Sheikh Hasina has returned to this country only to avenge the murder of her father and to mortgage the territory of Bangladesh to India in exchange for power. Earlier her father had left the spirit of the Liberation War and paved the way for starting Indian hegemony in this country by establishing Baksal, was killed subsequently by a group of army members. His daughter has also killed the scholars, students, farmers, workers and the general public to serve India."

He said that on October 28, 2006, people were beaten to death like snakes on the street of this Paltan area. In the July-August 2024 student-public movement, Shaheed Abu Sayeed's remark was "A storm is raging inside my chest, shoot me" - this storm is the storm inside the chest of the 180 million people of this country. If Jamaat-e-Islami gets the responsibility of running the country, all the murders from October 28, 2006 to August 5, 2024 will be properly investigated and justice will be ensured. We will not be allowed to make the country slave to anyone.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a rally organized by Dhaka City South Jamaat-e-Islami on the occasion of the Victory Day on December 16 at Paltan intersection in the capital. Central Executive Council member and Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the event while Central Working Committee member and Dhaka City South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud hosted the event. Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim spoke in the program as the special guest. Among others, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City South Abdus Sabur Fakir and Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Assistant Secretaries Muhammad Delwar Hossain, Kamal Hossain and Dr. Abdul Mannan respectively addressed the program.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Independence has been snatched away and one single family became the owner of all wealth. No one in this country knows when and where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared independence. If Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for the freedom struggle on March 7, then why did Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hoisted the Pakistani flag at his residence on March 23, on the occasion of the Pakistan Day? The students of that time took down that flag and hoisted the flag of Bangladesh.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, “The pledge of this Victory Day will be - let Indian hegemony be destroyed, let the defeated power Awami League, India’s ally, be destroyed. We are united for the sake of national interest, forgetting all differences. He called on all political parties to join hands with the people against Indian hegemony. Only through national unity, the dreams and aspirations of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for an independent Bangladesh from 1971 to 2024 will be fulfilled.

Later a victory rally was brought out under the leadership of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in which thousands of people joined spontaneously.
