General session of Central Majlish-e-Shura held

Jamaat Ameer urges the affluent corners, social and political organizations to take a stand by the side of disaster Remal victims

A meeting of the central Majlish-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held with party’s Acting Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in the chair. Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman, former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, former MP and Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar, all Assistant Secretary Generals and central executive committee members were present on the occasion. Addressing the session, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, we are expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah, as He has allowed us to commence this session of central Majlish-e-Shura.

At this moment, I would like to remember humbly and respectfully our former Ameer Professor Ghulam Azam and former Ameer and former minister Shaheed Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana AKM Yousuf, Professor AKM Nazir Ahmed, Maulana Abdus Subhan and Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee, former Secretary General and former minister Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid, former Assistant Secretary General Muhammad Kamaruzzaman and Abdul Quader Molla and central executive committee member Mir Quasem Ali. May Allah accept all of them as martyrs and bless them with Jannah.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, the nation is crossing a critical condition. People are not enjoying freedom of speech and the rights to hold procession and rallies. Since this government came to the office, they had taken the voting rights of the people away. Actually, the people have no rights. Political parties, particularly Islam, Islamic movements, Islamic personalities and Islamic organizations have become the worst victims of repression. To be specific, Jamaat-e-Islami has become the main target of the incumbent government. The government had lodged false cases against Jamaat’s top leaders in order to destroy its leadership. Subsequently, death penalties were declared against them and they all were executed. Hundreds of thousands of Jamaat activists have been imprisoned as well. The government made all out efforts to eliminate the opposition forces. But at the end of the day, all conspiracies of the government went in vain.

The government has destroyed the electoral system completely. This government is functioning without any mandate and they created an anarchic situation by conducting misrule. There is no peace, comfort and rule of law in the society.

National economy is at the verge of collapse now. Various irregularities including capital market scam, bank looting, money laundering and other mismanagement have destroyed the economic structures. The government has taken huge loans from the bank and violated the banking discipline severely.

Country’s educational system have been ruined totally as well. 92 percent people of this country are Muslim but the government excluded the Islamic educational items from the educational curriculum. Instead of moral and ideological education, ill-cultures have been included. Even the Madrasa education has not been spared from the conspiracies of the government. Islamic personalities are being harassed now in many ways. United resistance to be formed against all these misdeeds of the government.

Jamaat is holding this session of central Majlish-e-Shura when 19 coastal districts have been badly damaged by the cyclone Remal on 27th May. This cyclone affected some 3.8 million people. Houses and crop’s field have been devastated. Hundreds of people are living under the open sky. I am urging the affluent corners, social and political organizations to take a stand by the side of disaster Remal victims.

Jamaat Ameer said, Bangladesh with huge potentials is suffering from various crises now. To rescue the nation from such crises, Jamaat activists have to play significant role. Jamaat activists have to convey the message of Islam to door to door and have to play bold role for ensuring massive changes based on Islamic values. Jamaat Majlish-e-Shura members have to engage themselves for the welfare of the people and relevant social services.
