Jamaat Ameer at a Multilateral Friendly Gathering and Public Reception in Kuwait’s Al-Ardiya

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the fugitive fascist Awami League government has crippled the country economically. They looted banks, emptied the treasury, and laundered money abroad.

He made these remarks on January 11 at a multilateral friendly gathering and public reception held in Al-Ardiya, Kuwait City. The event, presided over by Hafez Mawlana Nurul Alam, was attended by notable Bangladeshi businesspeople, academics, dignitaries, and people from various walks of life.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further stated that the previous oppressive government committed various acts of tyranny and persecution against the people. The fascist Awami government executed top Islamic leaders by hanging them. The tyrannical regime falsely accused religious scholars, unlawfully imprisoned them, and subjected them to physical and mental torture. They used police to shoot people at will and demolished homes.

He added that the previous government created complications by not properly valuing expatriates, withholding their visas and passports. Corrupt officials were appointed in foreign embassies to exploit expatriates. Honest leadership will bring an end to the corruption and also to establish justice. He encouraged expatriates to represent Bangladesh with honesty, sincerity, and dedication, enhancing the country’s reputation abroad.

He urged expatriates to demonstrate principles, skills and competence in all areas, and also to respect the laws of the countries they live in, and strive to improve Bangladesh’s image. He advised them to stay informed about their families and the situation back home, and to work tirelessly to build the nation. He called upon everyone to devote themselves to national development.

Dr. Maulana Khalilur Rahman Madani, a central working committee member of Jamaat-e-Islami, in his speech highlighted the fall of a despotic regime through the people’s student movement. He urged everyone to remain vigilant to prevent future authoritarian governments from coming to power.

The people of Bangladesh will no longer tolerate any fascist regime. Under the leadership of Jamaat Ameer, the effort continues to transform Bangladesh into an ideal welfare state.

Then, on January 11, First Secretary of the Bangladesh Embassy, Mr. Moniruzzaman, and top embassy officials bade farewell to the Jamaat Ameer. The Ameer departed for Makkah to perform Umrah and is scheduled to leave for Dhaka on January 12 after completing his pilgrimage.
