Secretary General condemns the murders of 4 Muslim worshippers in police firing in India’s Uttar Pradesh

Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar issued the following statement on 25th November 2024, strongly condemning and protesting the incident of police firing in India’s Uttar Pradesh, in which 4 Muslim worshippers were killed and many worshippers were injured, in connection with the demolition of a Mughal-era mosque at Sambhale of Uttar Pradesh, India.

"When Hindus tried to conduct a survey on a Mughal-era mosque in Sambhale, of India's Uttar Pradesh, claiming that it was a temple, Muslims prevented them from doing so, and subsequently 4 Muslim worshippers were killed and many worshippers were injured in police firing. I strongly condemn and protest this incident.

The ruling BJP government has been conspiring in various ways to destroy Muslim Mosques and madrasas since it came to power. As part of that heinous tactics, a conspiracy has been started to destroy the mosque by falsely claiming that there was a temple in the mosque's place. By paving the way for destroying the Mosque, the BJP government has violated the religious and human rights of Muslims, recognized by the United Nations. Muslims all over the world are concerned about such heinous and unjust actions of the Indian government.

I call on the BJP government to stop the conspiracy to destroy the Mosques. At the same time, I call on the Bangladesh government to protest the Indian government's interference in the religious and human rights of the Indian fellow Muslims.
