Gazipur district Jamaat’s Members’ Conference held

Jamaat Ameer calls everyone to be united for tackling the national crisis

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "In politics, it is said that the party is bigger than the individual, and the country is bigger than the party." But in the 53-year history of Bangladesh, politicians have failed to prove this slogan. The current generation is not inclined to see this failure. They want politicians to be succeed. We clearly want to say that the basis of national unity will be the mass revolution of 2024. Our party and any party should not think of walking on a different path by bypassing the spirit of the general masses.

He said these things while addressing the members’ conference as the chief guest organized by Gazipur District Jamaat-e-Islami at a community center in Nagpara area of the city on Friday (October 25) morning.

Jamaat Ameer also said, I am drawing the attention of my party and other stakeholders saying that we should not stand against the spirit of the people. We must stand strong for the people. If there is a just demand of the people, we should not try or dare to ignore their demands. But yes, if a certain section of the people comes up with something to deceive the nation, we will counter them.

The members’ conference was presided by district Ameer Jahangir Alam. Jamaat’s central executive council member principal Md Izzatullah and central working council member Maulana Khalilur Rahman Madani were present in the program as the special guests. Among others, Gazipur district Jamaat Secretary Md Safi Uddin, District Nayeb Ameer Abdul Hakim and Maulana Sefaul Haque, District Assistant Secretary Anisur Rahman Biswas, Gazipur city Jamaat Ameer Professor Jamal Uddin, Nayeb Ameer Khairul Hasan, Secretary Abu Sayeed Mohammad Farooq, District Publicity Secretary Principal Mostafizur Rahman and other local leaders were present on the occasion.

Jamaat Ameer further said, Bangladesh belongs to all of us irrespective of caste, religion and party. We want our beloved country to be remained in peace. Justice to be established in the society; fundamental rights of people to be protected and every citizen should feel comfortable with their identity as a dignified citizen. Jamaat-e-Islami dreams of building such a humane society so that those who are at home and abroad can express their identity as a proud Bangladeshi. A society should be established in which there will be no discrimination and no one will dare to subdue other’s human rights.

He also said that the main demand of the youths who sacrificed their lives in the recent July-August movement that they want justice. In a society where justice is established, robbers and thieves have no place. There is no opportunity to plunder the wealth and smuggle it abroad. Where justice is established, there will be no rampant trade in bribery.

He pointed out the various misdeeds of the previous government and said that the ministers of the previous government, even the finance minister, once said that bribery should not be called bribery now, it should be called speed money. Other ministers also echoed the same ill-spirit.

Jamaat Ameer said, we got such a strange parliament and government which never functioned for the people. The parliament members were used to waste people's money by singing and making flattery. In history, there were fascist rulers, dictators., They were not fearful of Allah. Before coming to the power, they appreciated the people and made vary positive comments and promises. But after clinching to the power, they followed all ill-efforts to suppress the people. Our nation has painfully noticed the same scenario in the last 15 years.

Recalling the status of expatriates in the past movement, Jamaat Ameer said, expatriates were humiliated, deprived of their rights, for this you have noticed that after the beginning of July and August, they declared war against the dictator Sheikh Hasina and her government. Because of this, the dictator trembled in fear. Then they started requesting the expatriates to send remittances for the country. But they (the expatriates) did not fell in such trap. They remained firm in their decision. Congratulations to them for their courageous role.

Calling upon everyone to be united in the national crisis, Jamaat Ameer said that in this country where so many people sacrificed their lives; under such circumstances, the responsibilities of political parties have increased a lot. This nation does not want any kind of division between parties for the fundamental interest of the country. The crisis has come, there is a crisis, there will be a crisis. This nation will face all national crises unitedly.

He said, our clear declaration is that we want a humane Bangladesh. That every citizen in Bangladesh, from the birth of a child to its death, the state is obliged to transfer every civil right in its name. After a baby is born, his five basic things must be handed over to him. One is his right to live. Well-to-do families will not demand this from the state, they need not demand this, but those who are poor must be brought under the patronage of the state. The second right, if he is sick, he must get proper treatment, the government must ensure that. Whether he is wealthy or poor, no one should be deprived of his right to medical treatment. His third right is that he should be provided with proper education to become a responsible citizen. His fourth right is that he shall not be unemployed for a single day when he has completed his studies from an educational institution. He should reach the appropriate place according to his merit and aptitude.

He said, we don't want to hand over so many paper certificates to our youth. Rather, I want to see Bangladesh as a country that stands on a strong foundation, on the foundation of development, by facing all the challenges by developing their skills. We must respect and love the youth. We want to see a youth driven society. No country can move forward by ignoring the youth.

We want to build a country where people will not be deprived of their due rights. Only Islam can guarantee it. If an Islamic society is established, judgment will not be influenced by seeing someone's face or by someone's telephone, inshallah. We seek the cooperation, prayers and support of the entire country to make it happened.
