A meeting of the central working council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held at it’s central office today. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman chaired the meeting. In the meeting, the prevailing situation and organizational issues of the country were discussed.
In his speech, Jamaat Ameer said, "The country has been freed from the grip of dictatorship, who had subdued the country for more than 15 years in exchange of thousands of lives, through the united and intense mass movement of the students and the people in July-August. Thousands of people were injured and became crippled. Many are still under treatment. Many of the victims are dying while undergoing treatment. May Allah accept the martyrdom of those who have sacrificed their lives. I am extending my deepest condolences to victim families. I am calling upon the government to take appropriate steps to facilitate proper treatment of the injured.
He also said that, we should work unitedly to establish rule of law, justice, human rights and also to secure the voting rights of the people of the country. Under the circumstances, I am calling on people of all classes and professions, including the political parties, social institutions, intellectuals, journalists, academics, to remain united by holding the spirit of the July-August revolution in their hearts.
Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman and Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar along with members of Central Executive Council and Central Working Council were present at that time.
Then Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman announced the names of the district and city Ameers, who have been elected for the term 2025-2026.
