Dhaka South City Jamaat’s members’ conference was held

There is no alternative to unity for establishing a non-discrimination society, claims Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The students have freed the country from the hands of the fascist Awami League in exchange for their life and blood in the hope of creating a society without discrimination. We also want a society, free from discrimination. We want to eliminate discrimination from all levels of the society. And that is why there is no alternative to unity for establishing an Islamic state. In a democratic country there can be different parties and opinions. In the establishment of Islam, all Islamic groups must forget all differences and be united. He said, if the haters of Islam can stand together then why can't those who are doing the movement for the establishment of Islam be united. Only one reason may remain behind such failure and that is, Islamophobic people are creating discord among us to unite us."

He said these things while addressing the members’ conference at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center on October 18, Friday. Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka South City organized the event. Jamaat’s central executive council member and Dhaka South City Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the meeting which was hosted by city Secretary and Jamaat’s working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mujibur Rahman and Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher addressed the program as the chief guest. Among others, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General respectively Maulana ATM Masum, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Former MP AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Publicity and Media Secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda, Central Executive Council Member Saiful Islam Khan Milon, Principal Muhammad Izzat Ullah, Mr. Abdur Rab, Md. Mubarak Hossain and Dhaka North city Ameer and Jamaat’s central executive council member Muhammad Salim Uddin, and Central President of Islami Chhatrashibir Md. Manjurul Islam and others spoke on the occasion..

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Forcing religion on someone is not the work of the Islamic state. This is the propaganda of Islam haters. Islamic state is a modern and welfare state, where all citizens of the country will prevail equal rights. There is no scope for discrimination within an Islamic state.”

He also said, "The syndicate created by the Awami League has not yet been broken by the interim government. As a result, there is fear and anxiety in the public mind. Awami League sponsored syndicate is not functioning in the market only rather more Awami syndicates are actively functioning in different levels of the administrations as well. They cannot accept the revolution of the students. They want to restore the fascist Awami League again. It is unclear why they are daydreaming where the leader of the party has fled the country, and the party has been disintegrated already. People wanted Sheikh Hasina's resignation, and she has fled the country."

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The term ‘educated unemployed’ will be deleted from Bangladesh forever. Vocational education system will be introduced in the future. If Jamaat-e-Islami gets the responsibility of running the country, educated youth will be given jobs after completing their education. Because, the main task of an Islamic state is to establish the fundamental rights of the people."

In the speech of the special guest, Professor Mujibur Rahman said, "Hasina, the dictator, has committed so many misdeeds, she did not have the courage to leave the power and stay in the country even for a minute. But even if you run away, you will not be saved. All injustices will be tried on the soil of Bengal.” He commented that the trial has just started and the trial will end.

Dr. Syed Abdullah Mu. Taher said, “Fascism will have no place in Bangladesh. All the democratic forces of this country have the right to do politics. He asked the question, is fascism a democratic force? Calling on the government, he said, you are the outcome of people's long struggle. It is your moral responsibility to swiftly bring those people to justice who had killed people.”

The opening of the conference was announced by Mr. Ali Ahmad Mabrur, son of former Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Minister of Social Welfare of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Shaheed Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid (RA).
