Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has said that the incumbent government has grabbed the power unlawfully. Immediate after coming to the power, they launched a tyrannical regime. We have been continuing our movement to restore people’s rights. Earlier, we had conducted a movement against autocratic ruler Ershad and reinstated public rights. We will be able to do so this time insha Allah. The people only want the collapse of this oppressor regime. So, we have decided to take the movement to final stage after the Eid-ul-Adha to press home our one-point demand. We want to assert that, until we have breath, we will not accept the autocratic rule. The incumbent fascist government has killed Jamaat Ameer Maulana Nizami and 4 other top leaders through the process of judicial killing. So, there is no way to make any compromise with the government. He urged the countrymen to take all out preparation to launch massive movement against this government.
He said this while addressing a gathering arranged in an auditorium of the capital demanding immediate release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and other leaders and religious scholars and also for the restoration of the caretaker government system. Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city south organized the program. Central executive committee member and Dhaka city South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the program which was hosted by city Secretary and Jamaat Dhaka city south secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Among others, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka city south Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka city south Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Delwar Hossain and Kamal Hossain, Dhaka city south’s working committee member Abdus Salam, Dhaka city south’s working committee member and former central president of Islami Chhatrashibir Dr. Mobarak Hossain and Dhaka city south Jamaat’s Majlish-e-Shura member Ashraful Alam Emon were present on the occasion.
Professor Mujibur Rahman said, the incumbent Awami League government has destroyed the judicial system of the country. There is no rule of law. If there is rule of law, our top leaders and religious personalities were freed. Now High Court granted bail to a person, but he is not allowed to get released. Many of them are being re-arrested. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and many others are becoming the victims of torture and repression.
The government is not showing any respect for the order of the High Court. We are demanding immediate release of all detained leaders and activists including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Nayeb-e-Ameer Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee, Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Shamsul Islam, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar, former MP Maulana Abdul Khaleq Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central executive committee member and Dhaka North city Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin.
Nurul Islam Bulbul said, Jamaat wants a free and fair election under a caretaker government. The organization will not be deviated from such stand. Jamaat demands release of all detained leaders and activists. Our top leaders have been remaining behind the bar for many years. The arrogance and reckless attitude of the government is substantiated with their ongoing torture and oppression. The people also tolerated these ill-deeds for a long time. They are tired of it now. So, they will return home after ensuring the release of their beloved leaders.
