Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP, Professor Mujibur Rahman said that the blood of the martyrs of the student movement will be valued if a happy and prosperous Bangladesh is formed. He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the general session of the Majlish-e-Shura organized by Dhaka south city Jamaat-e-Islami today.
He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami is working to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh. In the past, those who had come to power, just looted the wealth of the country and smuggled it abroad. Some have built mountains of wealth overseas. But 2 ministers of Jamaat-e-Islami held discharged 3 important ministries. Till date no one has complained that they have committed a single penny of corruption. Even our MPs who have served earlier are free from the allegation of corruption and irregularities. Because the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami are fearful of Allah only. They firmly believe that the wealth of the state belongs to the people. That is why, Jamaat workers do not and will not loot people's wealth.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Council member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the session, which was hosted by Dhaka south city secretary and Jamaat’s central working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. The session was held on Friday (September 27) at Al Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar of the capital. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan was present as the special guest in the session.
The chief guest also said that if the people give the responsibility of running the country to Jamaat-e-Islami, then Zakat-based economic system will be developed. Commenting that interest can never bring welfare, Professor Mujibur Rahman further said that establishing a welfare state based on Zakat is one of the programs of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The session was attended by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka south city Nayeb-e- Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir and Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Assistant Secretary Muhammad Delwar Hossain, Dr. Abdul Mannan, Central Majlis Shura member and Dhaka south city Jamaat’s working committee member Professor Mukarram Hossain Khan, Md. Shamsur Rahman, Advocate SM Kamal Uddin, Dr. Mubarak Hossain and others.
In the speech of the special guest, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said that in 1971, people of all professions unitedly fought for the liberation and made the country independent. However, even though the country became independent, the dreams of independence were not fully realized. No past government has practiced democracy. Instead, they made every effort to perpetuate the state power. In the last 15 years, the dictatorial government did not ban politics without officially announcing it, but did not allow any political party in the country to do politics democratically. They were not even allowed to stand on the streets to press home their democratic demands. As Awami League increased the level of torture, people also intensified the level of agitation. Awami League did not want to understand the language of people's mind and did not allow it to be expressed.
Later, when the students demanded basic rights from the state, Sheikh Hasina, her police force and the terrorist Chhatra League shot and killed thousands of students. People from all walks of life participated in the movement called by students. Sheikh Hasina was not only forced to leave power but also fled the country.
In the president's speech. Nurul Islam Bulbul said that all leaders and activists should play an effective role to facilitate the struggle of Jamaat-e-Islami to establish justice, rule of law and fundamental human rights. Jamaat-e-Islami believes that an Islamic state should be established to establish justice and fairness. And Jamaat-e-Islami continued the movement to establish an Islamic state. He appealed to the Shura members to keep the people involved in the movement of Jamaat-e-Islami till victory is assured.
