Md. Abdullah, a student of the capital's government Suhrawardy College, who was seriously injured in the anti-discrimination student-public movement, passed away at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at around 8:30 am on November 14 (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).
It is worth noting that on November 14, the leaders of Jessore District Jamaat attended the burial of Shaheed Abdullah. They met his family and expressed their condolences to them. The local Jamaat leaders are still keeping track of Shaheed Abdullah's family.
On November 23, as per the directions of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Council Member Mr. Mubarak Hossain went to his village house located in Ward No. 9 of Benapole Municipality in Sharsha Upazila of Jessore district. He met Shaheed Abdullah's father Abdul Jabbar and inquired about his family and consoled them. He visited the grave of Shaheed Abdullah and prayed for the forgiveness of his soul.
At this time, Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman joined virtually and said, Shaheed Abdullah was an active worker in the anti-discrimination student-people's movement. He sacrificed his potential life selflessly to free Bangladesh from fascism. The nation is proud of his sacrifice. I hope the nation will remember him with deep respect and give him the status of a national hero. I pray to the Almighty God to accept him as a martyr. May Allah Almighty grant patience to his parents and relatives. At this time, he pledged to stand by the family of Shaheed Abdullah and instructed the local leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to provide all kinds of support to his family.
Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed hope that all those who were martyred in the anti-discrimination student-public movement will get justice and said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will always stand by their families.
Earlier, Mr. Mubarak Hossain attended the Ulama Conference at Navaran Darul Aman Trust. Later, he went to the house of Rezwan, the leader of the Islami Chhatra Shibir who disappeared in 2016, and inquired about his family and expressed his condolences.
Central Working Committee member Maulana Azizur Rahman, Jessore District Ameer Principal Maulana Golam Rasul, former District Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman, District Jamaat leaders Maulana Abu Zafar, Maulana Shihab Uddin, Sharsha Thana Ameer Rezaul Islam, Secretary Maulana Yusuf Ali and Jhikargachha Thana Ameer Maulana Asadul Alam were present at the time.
