The rights of all irrespective of their caste, creed and faith must be ensured, asserts Jamaat Ameer

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Nobody is taking responsibility of the offences which had been committed during the fascist regime. But in those days, they were used to do such offences boastfully. The subordinate leaders and activists are blaming Sheikh Hasina for everything. Actually, it is her party people who are making her mastermind or the Godmother.

Jamaat Ameer said this while addressing a program with the martyrs' families as the chief guest today. Kushtia district Jamaat-e-Islami organised the program to commemorate the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the recent student movement. Jamaat Ameer also exchanged views with the family members of 15 martyrs of Kushtia district and donated Tk 2 lakh to each family.


Addressing Sheikh Hasina, Jamaat Ameer further said, "You claimed to make 'Bangladesh a role model for development.' If your words were true, you would not have had to flee the country after ruling the country for 15 and a half year.

District Jamaat Ameer Professor Abul Hashem presided over the program which was hosted by District Secretary Professor Suja Uddin Joardar.

Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Everyone should be vigilant so that no one can impose a dictatorial system on the people of this country in the future."

Jamaat Ameer said that the interim government has many responsibilities. They got a ruined country from the hands of Awami fascist regime. The interim government needs reasonable time to reform country's democratic institutions and election commission. The people of the country are ready to give this time.

He also said that there is no justice and fairness in the society for a long time. People of the country are deprived of their due rights. The rights of all irrespective of caste, religion and creed must be guaranteed. Jamaat will make every effort to establish justice in the society.

Recalling the sacrifice of the students, he said that hundreds of people have sacrificed their lives in the mass revolution of the students. Many people were injured. Many have been suffering blindness. So we have to collectively stand by them. Jamaat Ameer paid tribute to the martyrs of the recent movement and sought quick recovery of the injured.

He also said, this country belongs to all of us. We will build a beautiful country on the basis of equal rights. We will not indulge any type of discrimination."

Central Executive Member of Jamaat-e-Islami and Jessore-Kushtia region's coordinator Mubarak Hossain addressed the program as special guest. He said, "Jamaat-e-Islami is meeting with all the families of the martyrs and the injured and trying to share their sufferings. Jamaat has also announced to take necessary responsibilities including their medical expenses as well.”

Regional Team Member and central Majlish-e-Shura member Khandkar AKM Ali Mohsin, Dr. Alamgir Biswas, Abdul Mateen, Professor Farhad Hossain and Shahjahan Ali Mollah, District Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdul Gafur, district Chhatrashibir student leaders were present on the occasion.

At the end of the program, Jamaat Ameer answered various questions of the journalists from print and electronic media.
