Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We achieved freedom once again in exchange of lots of blood. But those who are transgressing are the enemies of this freedom. We will not give them any opportunity to do violence. If justice is established in the judiciary, all criminals will be tried. No one will be spared.”
He said these while addressing at the exchange meeting with the family members of 10 10 martyrs of Mirpur who had been martyred during the anti-discrimination student movement recently. Dhaka north city Jamaat organized the event. The program was presided by Dhaka north city Jamaat Ameer and Jamaat’s central executive council member Muhammad Salim Uddin and hosted by city secretary and Jamaat’s central working committee member Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Karim. Among others, Jamaat’s Central Executive Council Member Mubarak Hossain, Central Working Council Member and Dhaka north city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, Assistant Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman and Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Sramik Kollan Federation Vice-President Lashkar Muhammad Taslim and Dhaka north city Jamaat’s publicity Secretary Ataur Rahman Sarkar were present on the occasion.
Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "May the dreams of the martyrs for which they sacrificed their lives be fulfilled." Don't take revenge on who did what in the past. May Allah guide everyone. We should go hand in hand to establish a just and fair society. We don't do politics for those in power. It is part of our responsibility.”
Jamaat Ameer said, "There is no division in politics. At the moment we are working on four basic issues. The first task is to bring back the order of peace in the society. The second task is to take the prayers of the families of those who were martyred. The third task is to stand next to those who are under treatment in an injured state. The fourth task is to seek Allah's help in building a future Bangladesh.
He said, “I have visited NITOR hospital. I have seen the cry and painful condition of people who have lost their legs. We have announced that we will take responsibility for those who are in requirement of artificial leg.”
The family members of the martyrs expressed their feelings on the occasion. An emotional atmosphere is created at this time. Ameer-e-Jamaat provided financial assistance to these martyr's families.
