Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 26th September 2022 at the death of world-renowned Islamic scholar Allama Dr. Yusuf Al- Qaradawy.
World renowned Islamic scholar and legendary guardian of the world islamic movement Allama Dr. Yusuf Al- Qaradawy has died today. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Throughout his life, Allama Dr. Yusuf Al- Qaradawi remained a victim of repression. He was the de-facto chief advisor of Ikhwanul Muslimin. He was the author of thousands of books on various deep and life-related issues. Immediate after getting published, these books have received appreciation and popularity among the people of all sections. I am deeply shocked at his demise.
He was passionately involved with various Muslim organisations and platforms. He was the former chairman of International Union of Muslim Scholars, an elegant platform of the Muslim theologians. He has also discharged duties as the honorary member of Jordan's Royal Academy for Islamic Cultural and Research, Organisation of Islamic conference, Rabeta al Alam al Islami and Islamic Studies Center-Oxford. He has also worked as the chief of Ireland-based international research institution European Council for Fatwa and Research.
Shaikh Qaradawy commenced his career as the inspector of Institute of Imams. He was also engaged as the founding Deen of Shariah and Islamic studies faculty at Qatar University. He worked there till 1990 and then he launched Sirat and Sunnah Research Center.
In the condolence message, Jamaat Ameer also said,
he was a great Ustadh and well-renowned teacher. Thousands of Muslim preachers, Islamic scholars and Muslim leaders have come in forth under his guidance and patronage. Transcending the Arabian periphery, his apostles have been working across the world. He was closed to the hearts of the oppressed and uncompromising voice against all types of tyranny, tortures and repression. He will be remain alive in the hearts of millions of Muslims over the years through his noble and benevolent activities.
We are praying to Allah Almighty for this great scholar of the era. May Allah accept his noble deeds. May Allah forgive his humanistic faults and limitations. May Allah bless his departed souls with salvation and peace. May Allah included him as the companions of the noble souls. May Allah bless his mournful family members, relatives and well-wishers to hold patience during the period of this bereavement. Ameen.
In another message of condolence, Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher expressed deep shock at the demise of Allama Dr. Yusuf Al- Qaradawy.
Dr. Taher said, he was a guardian of the Muslim Ummah. Along with preaching Islamic message and sermons, he played a significant role in establishing Islamic values. Despite all repressions and tortures, he was adamant about his ideology and duties. His sharp writings encouraged and motivated the Muslims around the world. He was a legend of our era. I am saddened at his death. May Allah accept him as His Abrar servants and bless him with Jannah. May Allah bless his family, relatives and fellow colleagues and well-wishers to hold patience. Ameen.
