14 killed, over 50 injured in road accidents during Eid vacations; Jamaat Ameer mourns

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 23 July 2021 expressing deep shock as 14 people have been killed and over 50 became injured in road accidents in last couple of days in various parts of the country.

“In last couple of days, 14 people have been killed and over 50 became injured due to road accidents in various parts of the country. On Eid day at noon, Dhaka bound Bus of Hanif Enterprise collided with a Dinajpur bound Himachal Paribahan. 3 people killed on the spot whole another two were killed while taking to the hospital. 50 men became injured in the accident. On 22nd July, a private car losing its control fell down to a roadside ditch and as such 3 men killed on the spot. On 23rd July, a collision between a truck and CNG killed another 6 people and wounded 3 others. 

I am expressing deep shock for all the deceased and praying salvation for their departed souls. I am also extending sympathy to their mournful families. I am praying for the quick recovery of the injured who are undergoing treatment in different hospitals.

Finally, I am urging the concerned authorities to find out the reasons behind the accidents, to take effective measures against the responsible personnel and to pay due compensation to the victim families.
