Over 50 people killed in a deadly fire at Narayanganj food processing factory; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 9 July 2021 expressing deep shock as more than 50 people killed after a massive blaze tears through food processing factory in Rupganj, an industrial town 25km (15 miles) east of capital Dhaka.

At least 49 bodies were recovered from the six-storey food factory building in Naryanganj'sRupganj taking the death toll to 52. Still, there are many people missing. This factory was used to produce juice, soft drinks and different other food items. Of the deceased, there were some kids. The bodies were burnt in such a way that they could not be identified. Many people are undergoing treatment in different hospital with critical condition.

I am praying for the deceased who have killed in this accident and extending deep sympathy to their mournful families. I am praying to Almighty Allah to reward all the deceased as martyrs. I am also praying to Allah for the quick recovery of the injured.

I am urging the concerned authorities to know the real reason behind this tragic blaze incident and to pay due compensation to the victimfamilies. I am also calling upon the authorities to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
