Israel closes Ibrahimi mosque to Muslims once again; Jamaat Ameer condemns

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 24 September 2020 protesting and condemning the recent move of the Zionist Israeli authority as they closed Ibrahimi Mosque for the Muslim devotees.

The Zionist Israeli authority recently closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank city of Hebron to Muslim worshippers for two days on Monday to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Passover. Prayer is stopped in this mosque now. This Ibrahimi Mosque is very significant and prestigious for the Muslim communities across the globe. The graves of Islam’s prophet Ibrahim (A), Hazrat Yaqub (A) and Hazrat Yousuf (A) are being located at the adjacent areas of the mosque. Several days back, Israeli authority closed another mosque in Jerusalem. Closing one after one mosque in such a way completely goes against the spirit of religious freedom and human rights.

We are condemning the incident. Besides, we are calling upon the Muslim world and the peace-loving people around the globe to raise voice against all illegal and unlawful activities of the Israeli authorities.
