Jamaat Ameer greets the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul- Azha

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 31st August, 2017 extending greetings to the fellow citizens of the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

“Holy Eid-ul-Azha is knocking at our door with the sacred spirit of sacrifice. Eid-ul-Azha teaches to be prepared for maximum sacrifice and dedication. To the Muslims, the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha are two days of celebration and joy. During these two festive occasions, people of all quarters becoming more intimate and perform prayers on the Eid ground defying all sorts of differences, jealousy and arrogance. The occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha not only give us pleasure but also strengthen our social bondage on the basis of brotherhood, solidarity and harmony. Eid also bolsters our personal, social and national unity.

Eid-ul-Azha vibrates people with the spirit of sacrifice and inspires the humanity to eradicate social, political and economic discriminations and exploitations in order to establish a justifiable society. If we can follow the Islamic principles in all aspects of our lives to establish justice in the society, only then we will be able to achieve the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.

Our qurbani will be fruitful if we can be prepared to sacrifice our favourite resources and wealth for the sake of Almighty Allah’s doctrine like the example set by our ancestor Hazrat Ibrahim (A) and his wife Bibi Hazera.

The nation is going to observe the holy occasion of Eid-ul-Azha in such a period, when the nation is suffering from political, constitutional and natural crisis. The ruling party goons in assistance of the law enforcers have established a reign of terror nationwide by carrying out terrorisms, extortion, murder, abduction and anarchy. The nation is passing a chaotic situation now.

The government has kept significant number of members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Chhatrashibir and Islami Chhatri Shangstha behind the bar to cause them sufferings. I am urging my fellow citizens of the country to raise voice against such ill conspiracies and plots of the government.

I am also extending my cordial greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and praying to Almighty Allah so that we can celebrate this holy occasion in a congenial atmosphere and simultaneously can uphold the true lesson and spirit of Eid-ul-Azha in our practical lives. In addition, I am calling upon the government to release all the detained members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Chhatrashibir and Chhatri Shangstha prior to the Eid-ul-Azha.”
