Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is one of the largest party which has regular representation in the parliament. Since the independence, it had parliamentary representatives in all the parliament. A significant number of Jamaat nominated candidates have won in all the local government elections including the city corporation, municipality polls, Upazila and Union council elections.
