Jamaat Ameer urges to accomplish the incomplete tasks and missions of Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 9th May 2024 remembering the contributions of the Jamaat-e-Islami’s former Ameer, world-renowned religious scholar, former minister and former member of Parliament Shaheed Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami.

“Shaheed Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami is a known figure to the people of this country. He was a religious scholar and Islamic thinker. Honesty, quality, humbleness, and generosity have uplifted him to in an extraordinary position. Since his youth, based on his quality, he led his contemporaries in various aspects. From the onset of his student life, he was involved with preaching Islamic ideology and the Islamic movement. As a politician, he has struggled for the betterment of the people. He also worked hard for establishing a just society. He also played a pivotal role to build Bangladesh as an Islamic welfare state by establishing Islamic ideology in a systematic and democratic way.

He was elected a member of parliament in 1991 and 2001. The countrymen will remember his constructive role inside the parliament. His speeches in the parliament were instructive. He also served the nation by circulating Islamic education. He played a distinctive role in attaining the government’s recognition to Qawmi Madrasa education.

He discharged his duties as Agriculture and Industry Minister with honesty, quality, and sincerity. His sincere and effective roles have turned the Industrial sector into a profitable sector.

He had a wider acceptance in the international arena. He was included in the list of the World’s 500 top influentials, published in 2006. In another survey in 2009, he was considered among one of the 50 top Muslim figures of the world. He has authored lots of important books and addressed various meetings, workshops, and seminars which created a vibe in the intellectual fields of the people. He was executed on 00:10 am on 11th May of 2016.

I am remembering the contributions of former Ameer-e-Jamaat Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami with great honor and respect. May Allah accept his martyrdom and place him in Jannah.

I am urging my fellow countrymen to take part in accomplishing the unfinished tasks of Maulana Nizami and also to participate in the movement of Jamaat-e-Islami for establishing Bangladesh as a Islamic welfare state.
