Being invited by the Honorable Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, a delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami went to state guest house Jamuna to meet him. At that time, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and former Member of Parliament Mia Golam Porwar, and the Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair were present.
The meeting took place on Saturday (13 December) at 11:00 a.m. at the State Guest House Jamuna. At the same time, leaders of the BNP and the NCP, as well as relatives of Inqilab Mancha’s Convener and July Fighter Sharif Osman Hadi were also over there.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the overall situation of the country. In particular, views were exchanged on creating a conducive environment for holding the 13th National Parliamentary Election in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, improving the law and order situation, and ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property, along with several other important issues.
In the discussion, special emphasis was placed on the incident that occurred yesterday, 12 December, in Bijoynagar of the capital, where Inqilab Mancha’s Convener and one of the July Fighters, Sharif Osman Hadi, was shot in the head which led him into severely critical condition. A demand was raised for the immediate arrest of those involved in the incident and for ensuring exemplary punishment.
At this time, while strongly condemning the barbaric attack carried out on Sharif Osman Hadi, it was stated that the entire nation is shocked, stunned, and outraged by the incident. This attack was not merely against an individual; rather, it was a direct assault on the entire nation and on democracy.
During the meeting, an appeal was made to the government to ensure proper medical treatment for Sharif Osman Hadi. At the same time, prayers were offered to Almighty Allah for his speedy recovery. In addition, deep condolences were expressed to his relatives, and prayers were made to the Almighty Lord to grant them patience and fortitude.
