8-parties’ divisional rally held in Chattogram

We do not want the victory of 8 parties, we want the victory of 180 million people, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

As part of the pre-declared program of rallies in divisional cities by the agitating 8 parties, a massive gathering was held today, 05 December (Friday) at 2 PM at the historic Laldighi Ground in Chattogram.

At this rally, organized with the demands of holding a referendum before the national parliamentary elections, ensuring a level playing field, and implementing the five-point agenda. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman addressed the program as the chief guest while it was presided over by Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “We do not want the victory of 8 parties; we want the victory of 180 million people. That anticipated victory will come through the Qur’an. From Chattogram, the trumpet of Islam’s victory will be blown. The Bangladesh of the future will be the Bangladesh of the Quran. He further said, “They developed themselves. They built roads with bamboo instead of iron rods. Looting Bangladesh’s money, they went to Singapore and started businesses. Countless religious students and teachers were killed at Shapla Chattar. After that, the notorious prime minister said they were lying down covered in paint. They came to power with blood on their hands and left with blood on their hands.”

He said, “The fascist regime lost the courage to flee by car. They tried to use the army, police, and BGB for their misdeeds. They destroyed everything in the country. Although fascism has fallen, the country has not yet been freed from fascism. Fascism will never again be allowed to rise. Pointing out that since the day after the August 5 revolution, a group has attacked the people to establish dominance, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Extortion and corruption are continuing. Some people are showing the arrogance of power even without being in power, influencing the administration.”

Declaring that the movement on the streets will continue until the 5-point demands of the 8 agitating parties are fulfilled, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “The unity that has been established among the Islamic parties will take us to the national parliament. If necessary, another August 5 will take place,” he warned.

In the presidential speech, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque said, “Bangladesh was built with the blood of poor, distressed, hardworking people. The Bangladesh of the elites will no longer exist. Many parties offered us seat-sharing deals. We want to establish the rightful ownership of Bangladesh. We want to convey the message of Islam. The grave of the capitalist economic system will be dug, and Allah’s law will be established.”

He said, “This time, through a united movement, the Islamic parties have emerged and through united movements against all conspiracies and hegemonies, the people will achieve victory. Mentioning that the people of Bengal are united today, Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque said, “Alongside voting for party symbols, the ballot box for the ‘Yes’ vote must be filled. If any uncertainty arises regarding the election, the government must take responsibility for it.” He sought prayers from all for the good health of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In the special guest’s speech, Islami Andolon Bangladesh’s Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim said, “Although the British left this country, an Islamic state was never established. Even in the 1971 liberation war, inequality was not removed. Those who ruled from then till 2024 could not free the country from inequality. That is why even after the sacrifices of thousands of lives in the August 5 movement, people did not find liberation. Once again there will be a movement against the extortionists and oppressors. When Islam is established, there will be no inequality. No one will live on the tenth floor while others live on the ground floor — this will no longer happen.”

He said, “We want to stand on the side of Islam and the side of Bangladesh. We must strive to make Islam victorious. If we remain united, Islam will come to power in the future, Insha Allah. Elections must be held on time. The people will not accept any conspiracy. Threats and intimidation will not work. Elections must be held ensuring a level playing field.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam said, “Come, let us forget divisions and make Chattogram the stronghold of Islam. The soil of Chattogram is the stronghold of Islam. When the power of these 8 parties comes to government, you will rule your own country. This country will no longer run on anyone’s ancestral power. He further said, “Bangladesh will reach such a stage that foreigners will come here to study. Come, let us all build such a country together.”
