Massive divisional rally of the 8-party alliance held in Mymensingh

When people fully obey the laws of Allah, then peace will be established in the country, assures Professor Mujibur Rahman

The authority of the world belongs solely to Allah, the Almighty. At present, authority is in the hands of human beings.

This cannot continue. As long as man-made ideologies remain in force in the country, the implementation of Allah the Almighty’s all-powerful law will not take place. In Bangladesh, man-made ideologies are in practice. Sometimes it was secularism, sometimes it was nationalism. Man-made ideologies ruled Bangladesh for 54 years. But they could not bring smiles to the faces of the people.

He said these things on Thursday (04 December) while delivering the speech as the chief guest at the divisional rally of the 8-party alliance at the Circuit House ground in Mymensingh.

Under the presidency of Presidium Member of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Professor Ashraf Ali Akhon, and hosted by Secretary of Mymensingh District Jamaat, Maulana Mozammel Haque Akand, the chief guest and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mujibur Rahman said: “The suffering and hardship of the people have not ended. The people of Bangladesh have spent 54 years in great difficulty. We want to change the fate of the people of Bangladesh. From now on, the National Parliament of Bangladesh, the Secretariat, and all educational institutions will be run only by the laws of Allah. No anti-Islamic law will be allowed here. Allah has given us two hands. So, with these hands, will we stamp in favor of man-made laws, or in favor of Allah’s law? We are pledging that as long as we live, we will live with the law of Allah, Insha Allah. We are the 8 parties—those who are Islam-oriented, who want the welfare of the country, patriotic manpower and patriotic parties—we have formed the 8-party alliance. The 8-party alliance stands for Islamic law.

Professor Mujibur Rahman further said: “Out of 180 million people in Bangladesh, 90 percent are Muslims. We want to organize this 90 percent. This 8-party alliance will not remain only 8 parties; all the parties of Bangladesh will gather under the flag of Islam, Insha’Allah. We also want to tell the BNP—you too should come. You also acknowledge the Oneness of Allah; you accept the Qur’an. But it pains us when you say you do not believe in Shariah law. I believe this statement is said mistakenly, not knowingly.

What I want to say is this— we wanted peace, but in 54 years we have not found peace. Islam means peace, and also complete obedience. When people fully obey the laws of Allah, then peace will be established in the country.”

At the divisional rally organized by the 8-party alliance, which is currently in a movement demanding the creation of a level playing field before the election, implementation of justice for those accused in the July mass killings, and a referendum before the election as part of the 5-point demands, the following speakers also addressed the gathering:
