Emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council held

An emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held today, Monday (1 September), at 11:00 a.m. in Bashundhara, Dhaka, presided over by Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. Nayeb-e-Ameers, the Secretary General, Assistant Secretary Generals, and other members of the Executive Council were present at the meeting.

The meeting held a detailed discussion on the current political situation of the country. The leaders emphasized the necessity of providing legal basis to the July National Charter 2025 and, in light of that, ensuring that the upcoming national parliamentary elections are free, fair, and acceptable. Jamaat-e-Islami’s firm stance on guaranteeing equal opportunities for all political parties before the election and on holding the election under the Proportional Representation (PR) system was reiterated from the meeting.
