An emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held today, 7 August, at 5:30 PM at the party’s central office. The meeting was presided over by Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman. The meeting included an in-depth discussion on the prevailing political situation in the country.
The discussion emphasized the importance of providing legal grounds for the July Declaration and holding the upcoming elections based on that declaration, with the ultimate aim of establishing a fascism-free Bangladesh, which is the core objective of the July-August mass uprising.
The meeting called upon the fellow countrymen to play a united and active role in realizing Jamaat-e-Islami’s declared 7-Point demands.
The meeting was attended by the Nayeb-e-Ameers of the organization, the Secretary General, Assistant Secretary Generals, and other members of the Central Executive Council.
