On the occasion of the first anniversary of the July Uprising, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement on 2 August, calling for the success of the nationwide mass procession scheduled for 5 August.

In the statement, he said:
"On the occasion of the first anniversary of the historic mass uprising of students and people in July 2024, and as part of the previously announced month-long program, I urge all city and district branches of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to make the peaceful mass procession on Tuesday, 5 August successful.

To ensure the success of the procession, I call upon all city and district organizations of Jamaat-e-Islami to carry out the program in a disciplined and peaceful manner.

I am inviting the countrymen to take part in this procession. Besides, I am seeking the cooperation of the concerned administration to make program successful.
