Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman issued a statement on June 23 expressing deep concern and condemning the US and Israel's attacks on Iran.

In the statement, he said, Israel and the US have violated Iran's sovereignty by carrying out surprise attacks on Iran on June 13 and June 21 night. Such an attack on an independent and sovereign country is a clear violation of international law, norms and the UN Charter. This attack is unreasonable and illegal. As a result of this attack, extreme tension is prevailing now across the Middle East. We express our deep concern and condemnation of this unjust and aggressive attack.

He further stated that recently, in a hearing of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said, 'US intelligence agencies still believe that Iran is not developing nuclear weapons.' However, the US attacked Iran under the false pretext of Iran developing nuclear weapons. This aggressive attack on an independent and sovereign country like Iran, based on false and speculative information, has shocked the world. This attack is a grave threat to world peace and security. As a result, conflicts will increase in the Middle East.

We strongly call on the world, including the United Nations, to take immediate and effective measures to stop the reckless, unjust, unreasonable and aggressive attacks by the US and Israel, while respecting Iran's independence and sovereignty, and to immediately protect peace and stability in the Middle East and the entire world.
