Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Central Publicity Department’s Secretary Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 4th May, 2017 protesting and gainsaying a false and baseless report of Daily Janakantha titled “আত্মঘাতি সব জঙ্গির শেকড় মূলতঃ জামায়াত-শিবির”(Jamaat-Shibir is at the root of all suicide militants).

“The report which has been published in Daily Janakantha implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir is completely false. This fictitious report has been published just to tarnish the image of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir.

I want to affirm that Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir are two Islamic entities who have deep trust and faith on the systematic and democratic trend of politics. Jamaat and Chhatrashibir have no nexus with the subversive and anarchic activities of any militant organizations including Ansarullah Bangla Team or Neo-JMB.

The report of Daily Janakantha has mentioned the name of several militants such as Rafiqul Islam Abu alias Abul Kalam Azad and his in-law family who have been killed in Shibnagar Trimohoni of Chapai Nawabganj, or Lokman who was killed in Moulovibazar, Shafiul Islam Don who was killed after the attack in Sholakia, Sazzad Hossen of Dinajpur and Albani alias Hozza alias Shahadat alias Mahfuz. But Jamaat and Chhatrashibir have no relation with any of them. The Daily Janakatha earlier had also published many false reports. We have reacted and protested against all those reports. Even though they are continuing to publish similar baseless and false reports in a bid to misled and misguide the people.

I am urging the authority of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such false and baseless report in future implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir.”
