Jamaat delegation visit the disaster affected area; distribute relief to the victims

A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami visited the natural calamity and disaster affected area in Sunamganj today. A delegation led by party’s central executive committee member Maulana Abdul Halim visited the Haor and other affected water body’s adjacent area in Sunamganj district’s Chatok, Dokhin Sunamganj, Sunamganj Sadar, Bishomvorpur and Tahirpur Upazila. At that time, they talked with the victim famers and distributed relief among them.

The other members of the delegation were party’s central executive committee member and Dhaka city North Unit Jamaat’s Ameer Muhammad Salim Uddin, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Sylhet city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Md. Fakhrul Islam. They also visited the affected area of Ichar Char, Ahmadabad and Tahirpur Upazila and distributed relief to the victim farmers of Puran Barunka, Lohachura and Anwarpur village. At noon, they briefed the journalist at a centre of Sunamganj town.

At that time, Maulana Abdul Halim stated that, like the natural disaster, the state sponsored repressions are going on against Jamaat-e-Islami. Already the Ameer, Secretary General and other top brasses have been executed unjustifiably. Jamaat leaders and activists are on the run as some 16 thousand false cases have been lodged against them. Under such adverse circumstances, we have come here on behalf of our Ameer Maqbul Ahmad and Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to take the side of the affected people. He also urged the Jamaat workers to extend assistance and cooperation to the disaster victims.
