Tasnim Alam rejects the false and confusing news of Daily Kaler Kantha

Jamaat and Allama Sayedee played uncompromising role for recognizing Kawmi Madrasa’s certificates

Secretary to the Central Publicity Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 26th April, 2017 protesting and denouncing the false and baseless report of Bengali Daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ against Jamaat-e-Islami in regards to the recognition of the Kawmi Madrasa.

“The politically motivated information which have been mentioned in the said report of Daily “Kaler Kantha’ against Jamaat-e-Islami is completely baseless. Referring an anonymous official, former Chormonai Peer Late Maulana Fazlul Karim and former state minister for education Ehsanul Hoq Milon, the report stated some false information. It was Jamaat’s one of the senior most leader Allama Delawar Hossain Sayedee who for the first time tabled the proposal in the then Parliament for recognizing the certificate the certificates of Kawmi Madrasa and also to make Dawra-e-Hadith, the highest degree of the Kawmi Madrasa equivalent to the Masters of the General education.

The then 4 party alliances government also accepted his proposal and accordingly issued a gazette on 29th August of 2006 to recognize the certificates of the Kawmi Madrasa. The 4 party alliances government could not fully materialize the decision as the gazette was issued at the last end of their tenure. As a subsequent initiative, the following caretaker government’s secretary to the education ministry issued another gazette to facilitate the previous 4 party alliance government’s decision. But those decisions were not implemented due to reluctance and sluggish move of the subsequent emergency government and incumbent Awami League led grand alliance government. But recently the government again issued another gazette recognizing Kawmi Madrasa’s certificates, which is nothing but a successful outcome of the uncompromising role of Allama Delawar Hossain Sayedee and Jamaat-e-Islami.

The aforesaid information clearly substantiated that the information which have been stated in the report of Daily Kaler Kantha have no basis. Daily Kaler Kantha has published this false news to ignore the pivotal role of Jamaat-e-Islami and Allama Sayedee in line with the demand of recognizing Kawmi Madrasa certificates and simultaneously to create some misunderstanding the between the religious scholars of the Kawmi Madrasa and Jamaat-e-Islami. But the people would never be confused and misled with such false news.

In this backdrop, I am urging the authority of Daily Kaler Kantha to be refrained from carrying out false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami and expecting that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the mass confusion.”
