Indonesia earthquake kills more than 100 in Aceh province; Jamaat Ameer expresses condolence

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’ s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 8th December, 2016 expressing deep shock and condolence as More than 100 people were killed on 7th December and more were feared dead after a powerful earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Sumatra of the Ache province, with many of the victims crushed to death in their homes as they slept.

“Along with the people of brotherly nation of Indonesia, the people of Bangladesh are also in deep mourn as over hundred peoples have been killed and many others became wounded being fell down under the rubbles.

The massive casualties that have taken place in this disastrous earthquake cannot be fulfilled. I am praying to Almighty so that the Indian government and its people can overcome this irreparable loss shortly.

I am praying for the salvation of the departed souls and extending our deep sympathy to the victim families and the mournful people of Indonesia and the government. May Allah bless them with patience to tolerate this shock. Besides, I am praying for the quick recovery of the injured victims.”
